Fees and Rebates

Momentum Psychology is a private billing practice and does not offer bulk billing.

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance payable at the completion of your appointment. Medicare rebates can be processed on your behalf following payment.

Initial Bariatric Assessment (90 minutes)

Includes feedback to the bariatric surgery team.

Fee: $420

Initial Psychology Appointment (55 minutes)

Fee: $225

Standard Psychology Appointment (55 minutes)

Fee: $225

ADHD Assessment

Assessment sessions: Assessments typically span 2–3 sessions, depending on individual complexity, and include a clinical interview, structured diagnostic interview (DIVA-5), and developmental history.

Fee $225 per session

Feedback session: A dedicated session to discuss your results, answer questions, and talk through next steps.

Fee $225

Comprehensive written report: Includes scoring and interpretation of all psychometric measures, a detailed diagnostic formulation, and supporting documentation for referral to a GP or psychiatrist where relevant.

Fee $1,550

Total cost typically ranges from $2,225-2,450, depending on the number of sessions required. We will discuss and confirm this with you before your assessment begins. Where a valid Mental Health Care Plan referral is in place for assessment and treatment of suspected ADHD, standard Medicare rebates may apply to your assessment and feedback sessions. The comprehensive written report is not eligible for a Medicare rebate.
                                                

Missed Appointments, Cancellations and Late Rescheduling Fees 

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 36 hours notice. Cancellations with 36 hours notice or more will receive a refund, minus a $10 non-refundable administrative fee to cover booking and processing costs. Appointments cancelled with less than 36 hours notice, or missed appointments, will forfeit the 50% booking deposit.

Please note that Medicare rebates are not available for missed appointments or cancellation fees.

This policy is in line with recommendations from the Australian Psychological Society and Australian Association of Psychologists Inc and helps ensure appointment availability for all clients.

There are several rebate options that may assist in reducing the cost of psychological treatment.

Private Health Insurance

Many private health insurers provide rebates for psychological services. The amount covered varies depending on your provider and level of cover. Please contact your insurer directly to confirm your eligibility and rebate amount.

A referral is generally not required to access private health insurance rebates.

Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)

With a valid referral from your GP or psychiatrist, Medicare rebates are available for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year under the Better Access initiative.

Eating Disorder Management Plan (EDMP)

Eligible clients may access Medicare rebates for up to 40 psychology sessions and 20 dietetic sessions within a 12-month period under an Eating Disorder Management Plan.

Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM)

Clients with a chronic or complex medical condition may be eligible for Medicare rebates under a GP Management Plan and Team Care Arrangement.

Medicare rebates are available for up to five allied health sessions per calendar year across all eligible providers listed within your care plan.
