Momentum Psychology is a private billing practice and does not offer bulk billing.
A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance payable at the completion of your appointment. Medicare rebates can be processed on your behalf following payment.

Initial Bariatric Assessment (90 minutes)
Includes feedback to the bariatric surgery team.
Required for all pre-operative bariatric surgery clients.
Fee: $390

Initial Psychology Appointment (55 minutes)
Fee: $220
• Medicare rebate with Mental Health Care Plan: $98.95

Standard Psychology Appointment (55 minutes)
Fee: $220
• Medicare rebate with Mental Health Care Plan: $98.95
• Medicare rebate with Chronic Disease Management Plan: $61.80
Missed Appointments, Cancellations and Late Rescheduling Fees
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 36 hours notice. Appointments cancelled with less than 36 hours notice, or missed appointments, will forfeit the 50% booking deposit.
Please note that Medicare rebates are not available for missed appointments or cancellation fees.
This policy is in line with recommendations from the Australian Psychological Society and Australian Association of Psychologists Inc and helps ensure appointment availability for all clients.
Medicare and Rebates
There are several rebate options that may assist in reducing the cost of psychological treatment.
Private Health Insurance
Many private health insurers provide rebates for psychological services. The amount covered varies depending on your provider and level of cover. Please contact your insurer directly to confirm your eligibility and rebate amount.
A referral is generally not required to access private health insurance rebates.
Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)
With a valid referral from your GP or psychiatrist, Medicare rebates are available for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year under the Better Access initiative.
Eating Disorder Management Plan (EDMP)
Eligible clients may access Medicare rebates for up to 40 psychology sessions and 20 dietetic sessions within a 12-month period under an Eating Disorder Management Plan.
Chronic Disease Management (CDM)
Clients with a chronic or complex medical condition may be eligible for Medicare rebates under a GP Management Plan and Team Care Arrangement.
Medicare rebates are available for up to five allied health sessions per calendar year across all eligible providers listed within your care plan.
